Explorer Afternoon…

We had a lovely afternoon on our explorer walk. We stretched our noticing muscles to spot different plants and mini ways. The children really persevered when sketching the landscape to make sure they included all the detail.

Symmetrical Minibeasts…

We have been exploring different minibeasts this afternoon and thinking about which of the, have lines of symmetry. We planned and designed our own paper plate minibeast thinking in particular about the shapes and symmetry we noticed. Then we created some of our designs using paint and paper plates. We can’t wait to finish them tomorrow.

We also discovered a new app called ‘amaziograph’ (thank you Mel) we could draw minibeasts and it drew the other side at the same time so it was completely symmetrical. Look at some of our attempts.

Dear Miss Dring,

I am writting you this letter to tell you how important worms are. To make a wormery you will need some gravel , soil ,some sand , put the gravel in the bottom soil and sand in.

firstly worms are covered in mucus so they can sliver through the soil. How amazing is that!

Secondly they can sense when anything is coming even though they dont have eyes. Did you know that?

Finally adult worms have a ring around them. How cool!

Worms are cool again.

Yours Sincerly,

Abigail

Dear miss Dring

I am writing you this letter to tell you how inportant worms are.

In year 2 we have done some amazing learnig about worms. Do you think worms are  yuky? Well I am here to tell you they are awesome.

Firstly worms are amazing because they burro though the soil. This leaves room for plant roots to grow and rain water to get in. How cool is that!

Secondly the worms help our fruit and veg grow. Their waste turns the dirt into soil. How beautiful does that sound?

Finally what have worms ever done to you?

Yours Sincerly,

Lexie

Firstly worms are brilliant because they burrow through the soil. This leaves room for plant roots to grow and water to get in. How cool is that!

Secondly  worms can sense things even though they cant see. How awesome is that!

Finally did you know worms help our fruit and veg grow and the soil gets richer? How brilliant!

Yours Sincerly,
